Corson 1914 - 2004 Nashua, NH-George H. Corson, 90, of Coburn Woods, died Tuesday, April 20, 2004 at Greenbriar Terrace Healthcare in Nashua. He was born in Rochester, NH on Jan. 16, 1914 the son of George D. and Gladys (Phalen) Corson. He graduated from Keene High School in 1932, from Keene Teachers College in 1937 and took graduate courses at the University of NH and Boston University. He taught shop in Andover from 1937-1945 and was appointed Principal in 1945. Mr. Corson had been the Principal at Milford High School from 1952-1970. He returned to Andover as the Elementary School Principal from 1970 until his retirement in 1979 and resided in Andover until 1994 when he moved to Nashua. Mr. Corson was a member of the Unitarian Universalist Church attending in Andover and Milford. He was a member of numerous teacher organizations at the state and national level. He had been a Boy Scout Councilman, a 50 year member of the Blackwater Grange in Andover, and a member of the DeMolay. He was predeceased by a sister, Dorothy Swartz. Members of his family surviving include his wife of 67 years, Pauline (Fisher) Corson of Nashua, NH; a daughter, Linda Ayres of Nashua, NH; a son, Lynn A. Corson of Delphi, IN; four grandchildren, Deloria, Gregory, Michael, and Laurie; three great grandchildren; two sisters, Verna Corson of Bradenton, FL and Lorraine Tibbetts of Northboro, MA; nieces, nephews, and cousins. There will be no calling hours. Graveside services will be held on Friday, April 23, 2004 at 12:30 P.M. in Proctor Cemetery, Andover, NH. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Andover Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 209, Andover, NH 03216. Chadwick Funeral Service of New London, NH is in charge of arrangements.
