Note: From obituary: "Funeral services held Thursday at 2 PM at the residence and at 2:30 PM at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Dr. Paul F. Miller officiating. Died at 8:55 PM Monday at his home, 3734 South Harrison St. He had been ailing for several months from heart disease and had been bedfast the last five weeks. Had 14 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren at time of death. Three brothers living at time of death - Rev. C.M. Beyer of Wichita Falls, TX, Rev. George Beyer of Marlin, TX, Paul Beyer of Altenberg, MO. Four sisters living at time of death - Mrs. Herman Leitz and Mrs. Arthur Schaff, of Ft. Wayne; Miss Emma Beyer of Battle Creek, NE; Mrs. Sarah Drumtra of Altenbertg. He served 28 years as the pastor of the Gar Creek congregation. Retired from the active ministry 23 years before his death. Served a charge at Uniondale, MI for 5 years before Gar Creek. Member of St. Pauls' church in Ft. Wayne. Returned home from the Scheumann funeral home where it was viewed after 7 PM." |
